One of the great American art forms, jazz has evolved by integrating elements from all types of music. Many jazz guitarists have developed their style primarily by emulating the innovations of the jazz greats on brass instruments and keyboards, and by absorbing classical and world music to produce some of the most sophisticated music for guitar.
